Is This a Buried Pyramid on Mars?

Image of Pyramid on Mars

NASA’s Curiosity rover recently snapped a picture from it’s mastcam on Mars that some viewers on Earth are claiming is a pyramid. The object is claimed by youtube channel Paranormal Crucible to be the size of an automobile. They say it may be the tip of a buried pyramid, or it could be a pyramid shaped marker stone. The video claims that the pyramid of “near-perfect design and shape” is “the result of intelligent design and certainly not a trick of light and shadow.” Watch the video yourself below.

Huffington Post, however, spoke by email with Dr. Jim Bell, deputy principal investigator of the Mastcam investigation program and a professor of astronomy at Arizona State University in Tempe. Mr Bell said of the pyramid “It is probably a volcanic rock (like most rocks that we’ve seen with rovers on Mars), and just like many volcanic rocks on the Earth, many volcanic rocks on Mars break and cleave in very sharp, angular ways. This one happens to have cleaved into a pyramidal shape, which is actually not too uncommon among hard, dense volcanic rocks on the Earth either.” He also claims that the object is roughly 4 inches tall.

Other anomalies on Mars

This isn’t the first strange pyramid like image captured on Mars. Below is an image of the famous face on mars that appears to show several pyramid like structures to the left of it. This site claims the structures are laid out in the shape of the little dipper constellation, (much like some claim the pyramids at Giza are laid out in the shape of Orion’s belt)

There is also this photo that appears to show a human like skull half buried in the Martin landscape. The original photo can be seen in NASA’s archive here.

Interestingly, an Indian space probe orbiting Mars snapped a picture earlier this year that some are claiming shows a mushroom cloud on the surface of the Mars. This is leading some people to conclude that there is more going on on Mars then we are being told.

Late last year, a former US Marine claimed that he had spent 17 years of his military career stationed on Mars as part of an “Earth Defense Force” protecting 5 human colonies on Mars from Martians. Could the photograph of the mushroom cloud on Mars be proof of this ongoing conflict?

    • There are several rensaos for the temperature differences between Earth and Mars. First and most importantly, Mars’s distance from the sun means the Martian year is approximately twice the length of an Earth year. Second, Mars has a thin, shallow atmosphere, which doesn’t have the capacity to store nearly as much solar energy as Earth does. Third, Mars’s atmosphere contains no water vapor. And last, the surface of Mars has a very low thermal inertia, which results in a much wider differential between summer and winer temperatures (which range from -140 baC to 20 baC).Also, climate models absolutely take into account the distance of the sun from Earth. Methinks you haven’t the foggiest idea what a climate model is.

    • To debate wehehtr Global Warming is occurring is to take you away from far more important things that are happening right now. We are in the midst of a mass extinction event which anyone under 30 years of age will have to deal with. It’s biology that is warning us now not climate science. So what’s happening? Phytoplankton are oceanic plants, small, microscopic, who make 50% of the oceanic oxygen, have a greater biomass than all the land plants put together, consume monster amounts of CO2 from the atmosphere and finally are the base of the food chain for the vast majority of living things in the oceans. So what? Phytoplankton are going through an extinction event. They are down 40% since 1950 and are dying off at 1% a year now (source Nature). Anyone under 30 years old today will live to see barren oceans.About 1 billion people get their protein from the sea. What are they going to do for food? And what processes or other plants will replace all the oxygen the phytoplankton will not produce and what plants or processes will take as much CO2 out of the atmosphere as they do? In other words, it is quite obvious that if the Phytoplankton are wiped out we follow quite quickly. Now you can blow this off’ as another scare tactic by some alarmist or take the point of view that technology will come up with something. You are welcome to your opinions. But if you are under 30 you will have to suffer through barren oceans and the huge upheaval in human affairs that will result in some nasty stuff happening. People will do whatever it takes to stay alive. Now I’m old, so I don’t have to deal with it and I can enjoy the world as it is because my ass is not on the line.If you are under 30, yours is.

    • There is no climate chgnae to explain, simply. Nothing is happening to it. The fact that Mars is much farther from the sun would be reason for less solar heat there, but what the atmosphere is made of there (CO2) doesn’t help keep the atmosphere warm.People believe whatever they choose on this topic. The side which is most politically correct to them is the one they’ll choose, and science is not what many people are using to make that decision. Fewer people support global warming than deny it’s existence. That the high concentration of CO2 on Mars hasn’t increased the temperature more should be reason for suspect here on Earth.

  5. Thanks for all of your effort on this site. Debby delights in getting into investigation and it’s easy to understand why. Almost all learn all about the powerful method you convey important tips by means of the website and in addition recommend participation from people about this situation while our own daughter is without question discovering a lot. Enjoy the rest of the year. You are always doing a really great job.

  6. An attention-grabbing discussion is value comment. I believe that you must write more on this subject, it may not be a taboo topic but generally individuals are not sufficient to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers
